Roberta from Mark McCabe Repair and Service, contacted me looking for a small site that had a retro feel to it and that she could update herself. The target audience for this site is rural farmers who may not be web savvy, so we needed to ensure the site was easy to read and navigate.
Heather was looking for a website to feature her herbicide and pesticide free blueberry farm that is known as “Missing Goat”. We created a simple and clean site that promotes her farm and homemade jam and chutney. The site features beautiful and fun photography of her farming lifestyle and of course product shots of her delicious looking blueberries!
In the past adding videos to your WordPress blog could be tough. You needed to install a plugin and often had to mess around with the YouTube code. If you have upgraded to the most recent version of WordPress, it is now much easier. You can simply paste the embed code right into the “HTML” tab when you are creating a post.

Many small businesses have the misconception that their business can not benefit from a website. That websites are too expensive or that because they don’t use a computer neither do their potential clients.
Here are 7 reasons why your small business NEEDS a website:
1. A web site lends credibility to your small business. Consumers expect businesses to have a web site and more and more consumers are turning to the internet to research a business service or product before purchasing. If you don’t have a web site you could be losing out to the competition. Even if you operate your business out of your home, a web site can help give your business a professional image.
Creating an effective web site that sells your products or services will be less daunting if you follow these simple steps:
1. Invest in your Website Copy.
If you want to create a web site that sells then your first investment should be in your web site content. Your web site is a marketing tool and your web site content should reflect this. If possible, consider hiring a professional copywriter to produce your web content. If you are writing your own content, remember to appeal to the emotions of your web site visitors. Always highlight the benefits of your products or services and show what value added features your product or services offer. Remember to use terminology the general public will understand; don’t get caught up using industry jargon and abbreviations. A well written web site should entice sales and improve your search engine rankings.

A new phishing email is circulating that claims to be an update for your email settings. It includes an attachment that you are supposed to run to update the new settings or a link to a website with the new settings. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT OR VISIT THE WEBSITE. The email may seem to be authentic, particularly because it will make use of your email and domain. Don’t be fooled.
The attachment and website both contain a Trojan Virus that will log your keystrokes and would make your banking/ credit card info vulnerable.

Kristin Williams, of Path Communications, had a very clear vision on what she wanted for a logo and website design and only a 2-3 week time frame for completion. The logo was to be crisp, professional and to really emphasize the concept of a “path”. The site was a simple brochure style site that would provide contact info, services offered, company background and references/portfolio.
